Celebrating our company’s 150th year in business is both a source of great pride and a moment to remember the achievements and developments of a firm that has continued to evolve and adapt to the changing times.
Throughout the years, the company has gone from the creative mosaic work of the founder Settimio Boletto, to the industrial production and distribution of high-end construction materials and to the completion of luxury real estate development operations.

In May 2025 an exhibition on the work of the Boletto 1871 Company, “Excellence in the art of construction”, was held at the Società Economica of Chiavari, cited in the Forbes magazine (May 03 2025).
History
Boletto 1871 is the continuation of the historical company “Ditta Settimio Boletto” which was founded in 1871 in Lavagna, Genova, by the great grandfather of Mariano Boletto, the present-day president.
Historically, the company was involved in the production of high quality floor materials, from the typical “risseau” pavings composed with black and white beach pebbles from the Ligurian Riviera, to mosaics, Venetian Terrazzo floors made of small chip marble, and the industrial production of cement tiles.
The company gained widespread recognition and received many awards in Italy and abroad thanks to its professionality and quality of work. This included being selected as a supplier to the Italian Royal Family.
With the continued success of the firm, additional factories were built in La Spezia, Levanto, Firenze and Viareggio. There, the production and commercial activity prospered under the wise guidance of Settimio and later Nicola, who also undertook the construction of numerous prestigious buildings, still property of the family today.
The activity was then brilliantly carried on by Nicola’s sons Settimio Nicola and Luigi. Today Ottavia and Luca, the fifth generation of the Boletto family, carry on the tradition combining their international background with the experience of a great team. With this setting the firm strengthens itself in the fields of Architectural design and Financial analysis of real estate opportunities, both at home and abroad.
